Door and platform design
Freight elevator doors are engineered differently than passenger elevator doors. KONE freight doors open vertically rather than horizontally, maximizing the usable opening for wide or oversized loads.
- Vertical-opening doors standard on all models
- Door width typically 4 inches narrower than platform width for structural integrity
- Door height matches full cab height for maximum clearance
- Front-only or front-and-rear door configurations available
- Platform sizes range from 6 ft × 8 ft up to 12 ft 4 in × 16 ft, depending on model and capacity
