A Smarter Way to Build

Wood structures are becoming increasingly popular in modern construction, and now installing elevators in these projects is easier than ever. KONE has a new solution for attaching elevator guide brackets in wood hoistways, making the process more efficient and cost-effective.

What’s New?

A wood insert utilizing a structural timber lag bolts are now approved for use throughout the full hoistway height in both seismic and non-seismic applications. This means KONE MonoSpace® 300 DX and 500 DX elevators can be installed in wood structures with confidence.

Why It Matters

  • Lower Costs: A 60-inch Hilti insert (including lag bolts) costs about 1/3 of the cost of a steel plate or ~5% of the cost of tube steel.
  • Simplified Installation: The approved Hilti solution streamlines the process for contractors and engineers.
  • Code Compliance: ICC-ES evaluation reports ensure acceptance by authorities and peace of mind for customers.
